You should also stop at Riffelsee, which is famous for the mighty Matterhorn reflections. Zermatt is the hub for outdoor enthusiast and in winter and summer there are various cable cars taking you to the most stunning places. If you are staying for longer (and especially in winter) you need to take the Matterhorn Glacier Express The Klein Matterhorn station is the highest in Europe and a great place to start off your skiing or hiking day.

Locarno & Ascona

Locarno and Ascona, located on the northern tip of Lake Maggiore, are famed for their sunny climate and vibrant cultural scene. Locarno, the picturesque town is home to the annual Locarno Film Festival, which transforms the Piazza Grande into an open-air cinema. The lake itself invites leisurely boat rides or a swim in its calm waters. Locarno's beautiful gardens and historic sites, including the Madonna del Sasso, a pilgrimage church perched high above the town, offer tranquil retreats and spectacular views over the lake. Ascona is just next to it and their form one beautiful sunny Swiss escape at the Italian border.

Schaffhausen - The Rhine Falls

The Rhine river springs in grison and flows all the way through Switzerland, Germany and ends in the North sea.
